Hilton Consensus 091206 - By: Lynda Collins - Poker-A-Z.Com cool cat casino

Close calls dominated the Las Vegas Hilton SuperContest consensus for the second straight week, with four decisions being made by single digits and five by between 11 and 19 nods.

SuperContestants got off on a losing note Thursday when reigning Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh crushed Cleveland 27-7.

Players had preferred the underdog Browns 36-17.

Top play of Week 14, as determined by the differential between the favorite and dog, was the New York Giants.

Entrants opted for the Giants 95-22 over field goal-favorite Carolina.

Tennessee, which is getting 1 1/2 points from Houston, earned the most contestant support, outdistancing the Texans 100-67.

Closest decision of the week was Indianapolis-Jacksonville, with the 1 1/2 pooch Jaguars receiving 88-82 backing.

St. Louis, which is getting 6 1/2 points from Chicago on Monday night, was an 84-30 choice.

Contestants split 8-8 overall between favorites and underdogs.

Other choices were Kansas City, 58-50 over Baltimore; Atlanta, 73-39 over Tampa Bay; Minnesota, 63-24 over Detroit; New Orleans, 74-53 over Dallas; New York Jets, 76-49 over Buffalo; Philadelphia, 53-40 over Washington; Cincinnati, 56-48 over Oakland; New England, 71-62 over Miami; San Francisco, 62-25 over Green Bay; Seattle, 64-52 over Arizona; and Denver, 61-46 over San Diego.

The consensus is 89-97-5 to date, including Thursday's loss.

Best bets are 8-5.

The Hilton's original field of 416 participants paid $1,500 per entry.

They make five NFL selections weekly, earning a point for a win and a half-point for a push.

The champion will pocket $249,600, the second-place finisher just under $100,000.

Twenty spots will cash.

Two $10,000 aggregate bonuses are available, one to any player(s) choosing more than 67 percent winners and the other to the winner of a three-week mini-contest that begins in Week 15.

Jarhead took a 3 1/2-game lead over Las Vegas gambler Chicago Pete Ventrella and a four-game advantage over Sundown into Week 14.

Here are their Week 14 selections:

JARHEAD -- Panthers, Jets, Jaguars, Patriots, Cardinals.

CHICAGO PETE -- Browns (loser), Buccaneers, Texans, Redskins, Broncos.

SUNDOWN -- Texans, Jaguars, Raiders, Dolphins, Cardinals.
